The SimRacing division within SMVA not only promotes e-sports competitions but also serves as a training ground for drivers in real motorsport. Our goal is to enhance internal dynamics through events and leagues, fostering interest in SimRacing and strengthening the community. We focus on promoting SimRacing in Aachen and NRW, encouraging students to participate in competitive leagues. SimRacing is also used as a training tool to improve driving skills for real-world vehicles. Technically, we integrate advanced simulations that are relevant for both motorsport and autonomous driving. We develop mods and interfaces for existing platforms to optimize training and analysis. This creates a strong technical link between SimRacing and real-world vehicle technology. Our vision is to establish SimRacing as a valuable component in motorsport training and research.
